If you’re a regular GTA Online player, you know Thursdays usually bring a wave of excitement—new bonuses, discounts, and fresh content. But the update for the week of May 22 to May 29, 2025, has left the community largely disappointed. Here’s a breakdown of what’s going on, and why many are calling this one of the weakest event weeks in recent memory.
Lackluster Bonuses
At first glance, the phrase “Triple Money” might sound like a jackpot, but the reality falls short. Here’s what’s on offer this week:
- Triple GTA$ on Taxi Work
Unfortunately, taxi jobs are already some of the lowest-paying in the game. Even tripled, the payout isn’t worth the time investment for most players.
- Double GTA$ on Super Yacht Life Missions
These missions are entertaining but far from popular. Plus, they require owning a super yacht—a luxury item that many players don’t have.
- Double Rewards on Shipwreck Collectibles & Tiny Racers
While this adds some variety, neither of these activities are major attractions. Shipwreck hunting is niche, and Tiny Racers hasn’t aged well with the player base.
Unimpressive Rewards
This week’s unique rewards haven’t done much to excite the community:
- Frontier Outfit for Collecting Shipwrecks
You can get the returning Frontier outfit by collecting all seven daily shipwrecks, but since it's not a new or exclusive item, many players are skipping it.
- $100,000 Weekly Challenge
Completing three Super Yacht Life missions nets you just $100,000—a modest reward compared to more lucrative event weeks.
Vehicle and Dealership Updates
- Podium Vehicle: Vapid GB200
- LS Car Meet Prize Ride: Dubachi Spectre (Win 1 race)
- Test Track Vehicles: Canis Seminole Frontier, Dubachi JB700, Kquet Black Vin
- HSW Ride: Sterling GT
- Simeon’s Dealership: Grotti Cheetah, Grotti GT500, Entity XF, Weeny Dynasty, Enus Super Diamond
- Luxury Autos: Annis Euros, Overflod Autarch
While the car lineup is varied, there’s no new vehicle or standout must-have. It’s business as usual.
Discounts and Gun Van Offers
- Super Yachts and Upgrades: 40% Off
Good savings, but yachts have limited use for most players.
- Land Vehicles: Up to 40% Off (Hotring Sabre, BF Weevil, Overflod Autarch, etc.)
Helpful for collectors or new players, but nothing game-changing.
- Gun Van Offers:
· 30% Off Compact EMP Launcher and select explosives
· Free Minigun and Heavy Sniper for lower-level players
· GTA+ Members: 40% Off Tactical SMG + Free L. Strickler Rifle
Again, decent perks, especially for beginners—but not enough to excite veteran players.
Salvage Yard Robberies Fall Flat
This week’s Salvage Yard targets—Declasse Mamba, Grotti Furia, and Pegassi Zorrusso—are available, but none are claimable at the moment. This undermines what could have been one of the more exciting features of the week.
Overall, this event week is being widely regarded as the worst of the month—and it’s easy to see why. The event week brings little excitement, but GTA money cheap xbox deals are helping fans stay engaged while waiting for the summer DLC.
For new players, there are still some solid discounts worth checking out. But for longtime veterans, this might be a good week to sit out and wait for Rockstar to bring something better.
Let’s hope next Thursday brings more to the table.
