Nine Distinct Areas in The Tomb
The map is divided into nine unique areas:
- Dig Site – A large archaeological zone with glowing runes and paths leading deeper into the map.
- Neolithic Catacombs – An ancient area with remnants of long-gone civilizations, including cave paintings.
- The Ossuary – A dark, foreboding area filled with skulls, bone piles, and ominous altars.
- Tombs – Features statues of ancient warriors, including shielded hoplites fighting a charging bull, with pristine architecture and sunlight streaming through the ceiling.
- Subterranean Temple – The last area before entering the Deep Excavation, linked within a vast cave.
- Deep Excavation – A mysterious area filled with scattered pillars and a strange place of worship.
- Shrine of the Hierophants – A vaulted and candlelit area where important figures from the past rest.
- Doorway to Nowhere – A deeper section of the map, still shrouded in mystery.
- Dark Aether Nexus – Likely the final destination of the map's main quest, tied to the fate of Samantha Maxis.
New Enemies and Gear
A terrifying new enemy, the Shock Mimic, will challenge players in The Tomb. These creatures disguise themselves as useful items and spring to life with razor-sharp claws, electrifying and disorienting players. The PPSh-41 submachine gun returns, along with Death Perception Perk-A-Cola from Black Ops 4, adding further depth to the combat experience. Players will also have access to powerful weapons like the Ray Gun to fend off the new threats.
Directed Mode for New Players
For those struggling to complete the map’s main quest, Black Ops 6 introduces Directed Mode, which caps the max round to 15, offering a more manageable experience.
With its chilling atmosphere, new enemies, and returning fan-favorite weapons, The Tomb is shaping up to be a standout addition to Black Ops 6's Season 2, launching on January 28, 2025.
